Heym Ruger #1 with Kahles 3-9 scope OPINIONS NEEDED!

9.3, I'm pretty sure Doublegun was saying that my gun's checkering, stock, sights, etc., didn't match those on the Heyms. Yes, I'm sure it was a standard number 1 imported into Germany.

Sorry, but I have to disagree completely with this. The checkering pattern is Ruger, the stock style is Ruger, the foresight base is Ruger, and the quarter rib is Ruger, but it's been altered for the German scope bases. You can still see the dovetail notches for the Ruger rings... why put them back on if you're going to build a new rib with a different sighting system? The rifle has been slightly customized and the stock given an oil finish, but there's nothing there apart from the scope mounts that's not from Ruger.

Ummm, that's what I said. But thanks. But since you seem to be an expert, please show another ruger with the same barrel stampings.

Sporting rifles imported into Germany must be proofed and stamped as meeting German standards. The same is required in Great Britain with imported firearms. Occasionally you will see Winchester rifles on the market with all the proper markings with the addition of British nitro proofs.

Now that would make sense. Factory rifle that came from germany that someone reshaped the forend, and added the mounts. Thanks Mike, good info.

Could you guys help me with a decent asking price for this? There is a dent in the objective ring on the scope (it is the trim ring in the front, not the scope itself). I shot it and got a 1 1/4" group at 100m resting on the mirror of my van at my in-laws' farm, so not too shabby. It liked the 100 grain SPs and 85 grain Partitions, hated the 90 grain Nosler E-Tips (no surprise there, those are junk!). Anyway, my neighbour wants it, and I don't know what would be fair to ask. Mif I was selling it on the EE, if I asked too much, it wouldn't sell, and I'd know. Help a fellow Nut out, please!
