I was having an interesting discussion with a couple of CGN'ers last night at the range, and the topic of the US military switching from 9mm to .40 came up. The topic was basically IF the US military were to switch to the .40, what would be the best hi-cap pistol for them?
A little pre-tense...
- must carry more than 12 rounds in a magazine (cannot protrude from grip)
- must be reasonably priced (for the military to buy it
)
- must be rugged and reliable (a given
)
This is not a 9mm Vs. .40S&W thread. Just interested in the "best" hi-cap .40 for use by the military. And no, I have not heard any rumors about the US military (or any military) switching to the .40, or am I advocating that they do
Lastly, the Glock in .40 wasn't even a consideration
