Hi, my name is Mike and I'm a huge fan and starting a nice collection of guns and was hoping someone here could help me out. I've had my eye set on a BFR 45-70 with a 10' barrel for sometime now. It's a beautiful piece of hardware and tying to see if anyone can point me in the right direction or is looking to sell one (for some reason). They are not the easiest to come by here in Canada so I've heard. Any feedback be appreciated and look forward to talking with people with the same great interests. thanks everyone.
 
Hi. Not a lot of demand for 'em in Canada. No hunting with handguns.
A Magnum Research dealer(rummange though the forum sponsor sites) should be able to order you one. However, due to the lack of demand, their distributors are unlikely to have one in stock, so you'll be waiting. Likely several months.
Suggest you attempt to try one on for size before you order one though. Any handgun has to fit your hand or you won't be able to shoot it well. The BFR(the 'F' doesn't really stand for 'Finest' no matter what MR says) is a great big thing and isn't made for an FNG either. Mind you, you can load the .45-70 down.
 
If you find one on an American website such as gunbroker, contact IRunGuns to see about starting the import process for it. They're a forum sponsor on here, and are generally very helpful with questions.
