Hi from BC, the 'Non-Snow' Island

If we had our way anyone east of Gibsons would need a special invite and a passport to visit our island home.
I arrived here from Ontario 21 years ago and am putting my foot down, unless there are any objections.
I shoot at the Parksville Qualicum Fish and Games Chattel Rd rifle and pistol range /or up the mountain,We can still do that.

ya who gave you your invite to the island i moved away when i was 19 mainly because i was getting sick of people that move there and call themselves "islanders" if it were not for this i would probably be raising the
6th generation of my family that would have been born there (or the gulf islands)

i don't think you should be able to be called an islander unless you are born there or die there...

sorry for the rant welcome to cgn what part of the island are ya from

Boy you islanders are mean. Here I am I drag my family to this foreign island from the throws of Toronto to protect the ways of the far west (Ok I just shoot with the west coast rangers) and I get treated like this after 21 years of faithfull support to the local drinking establishments and other businesses.I should be adoptable by now.

A B.C. xenophobe from Ontario Ha ha ha ha ha.... That's too rich!

Welcome from the North Island.......Im a born and raised Vancouver Island man. Born in Campbell River, grew up in a logging camp, then moved to "civilization" (Port McNeill) in late '79. Never left....love it here but am hating this fugging rain. :D

Greetings from Whitehorse Yukon where it snows for five months,in fact its snowing right now! John.
My neighbours live in the Yukon, they said there was 8 months of winter and 4 months of poor sleding.

Port Mcneill - that is north! Farthest north I've lived is Fanny Bay.. It seems that as you move up the island people get nicer (and a little stranger) as you go. But the real crazies are down south in the cities :D

We are pretty friendly up here and we do indeed have some weird ones that live here and every town has a few crazies in them......LOL

Welcome to the forum. I'm a Victoria guy and go to VFG as well. The Island is full of odd communities, that's for sure.

I just went to the Range down on the Malahat for the first time a couple weeks ago. My Dad was interested in shooting (hadn't since he was a kid). So we took a few firearms and my little brother too :)
Annywaayyy.. My point is that it is really nice there! I loved the mossy hill that goes way back 300++ yards it seems. And all facilities in one location. Pretty nice!

I have lived on this rock for 21 years now, moved from Toronto area where i also worked. It took a few years to slow down and get used to the pace but those first few years were frustrating as hell. You couldnt drag me away from here now and as far as weird ones we need these types to help make us look normal or what we assume normal is,it might not be us, now that I think about it.
