Hi all. I used to have an FAC when I lived in Alberta but it expired 20+ years ago. I never needed a rifle in the city so I haven't renewed for a long time. I enjoy shooting and am planning to get my PAL. I'm going to be buying some land up north one of these days and will need a gun to 'fit in' with the rural crowd and scare off the bears.

Hey welcome to CGN, I am also from Montreal in fact 50 years ago I shaked hands with the "Rocket" at a sports banquet, I was 12. Cheers Roscoe

hi.welcome on board.

that statement is interesting.

there's many range around montreal. north shore has one of the biggest outdoor range in the province, many cool people work there and on top of that you can shoot 200m,something not so common around the city.

even peoples from the city can have fun with their toys ,it's only a 30 minutes drive.

Welcome and Welcome back to one of the nicest Sport hobby around

I am from Montreal too, I almost think the same way as you do when It come to living in the city. Only difference I need at least Ten guns to live in it :)

Thanks for the welcome everybody. It seems to be a very active board, like 6 pages of posts in 1 day! I got stuck in the jokes thread :) .

Where is the 200m firing range on the north shore, yellow pages only gives places in Ont.? The are some club de tir's, but only south shore. I used to shoot at NFTA in Lachine but it closed a long time ago and it wasn't really a rifle range.

I really haven't been doing anything about keeping active because of all the paperwork.

I think there is a rifle range in Terbonne, I don't know the name of it but someone will chime in here with the details.....
