Greetings fellow shooters,

First of all thank you to CGN for allowing me to join the forum.

I would like to introduce myself to the shooting community... My `Handle` may give the show away.. Yes, I used to fly but now I just enjoy retirement since the early age of 54 and decided to take up shooting (again) as one of the most exhilarating sports around.
When I say `again` means that the last time I, and all the legal firearms holders in the UK, were allowed to own guns was in the early 90`s...suddenly, the British Government decided overnight that we were all `criminals` (for want of a better word!) and decided to ban ALL firearms other than black powder and, shotguns if you are a farmer that is. Their reasoning was `This will reduce gun crime in the UK!`. Well guess what..... the gun crime WENT UP... So, suddenly, we had to hand over ALL shooting paraphernalia to be compensated by a fraction of what our equipment was really worth......Anyway.. that is history. My family and I have now lived in Beautiful BC for 8 years and realized that we should have come here at least 20 years earlier!!

It is good to see that Canada still gives you the right to gun ownership....lets keep it that way .... `cos I hope we do not end up like the Brits did!!

Welcome aboard!! Bet you have heard that one before!!! If you ever get out to Mission, shoot me a PM. Maybe we can get out to the Rod and Gun.

Thanks for the welcome Pittboomer... and yes you are right about individuals that want to Outlaw guns...unfortunately some Governments and Politicians choose to think on those lines....for numerous reasons

Hey `Blueskies`I think I may have joined the same club last month ..is it the PCDHFC that you are referring to?

Mfive.. thanks for the offer to check out Mission ..I will look forward to that..I was told yesterday that there is a wilderness area near Mission that is a good for a bit of `open air` shooting? But I cannot remember the road...something like ..bridge?!:sniper:
 
Yes, it's the PCDHFC. I am also a member there.

My experience in the `armament field` was rather limited to a ACP 45, Ruger 6 shooter, and a S&W 22 semi and that was for a period of 1 year, back in the UK, before it was all taken away. Now that has changed...I have just splashed out on a Ruger SR22 and a Weatherby 12g both are beautiful pieces of kit and I have put about 400 through the SR and about 100 slugs on the Weatherby....great fun.

I am looking to get a CZ858 or a SKS (Russian) any comments from you guy`s!!:wave:

Buy this stage, if I am not bankrupt, I have my eye on a Desert eagle .50 and I dooooooo like his son...the Baby Eagle!! Anyone have any suggestions??

Welcome your gonna hate it here w:h: and your probably not the only Pionair.
You'll probably be OK until you learn how to EMT then it's all over.

Welcome from Coquitlam. I hope to see you at the POCO range.

In case you haven't found out, the range is open 7 - 8:30 for Rimfire Night every Wed. evening for members. More relaxed shooting atmosphere.
