Hi everyone.

My name is Erik. I'm twenty-three years old; I'm originally from Ottawa, but have been happily living and studying in Vancouver for the past three years.

I've been anonymously using the site for a couple of months now -- getting my bearings. Everything seems pretty good to me.

I just finished my CFSC and my CRFSC, and am waiting for the processing. It's agonizing to wait, but... that's life.

As for shooting experience, I did a little bit of biathlon (.22) when I was about 12 years old, but hadn't touched anything since, until several months ago, when a few friends took me to their range. Long story short, I'm hooked, and I've already paid for my first rifle. When I finally receive my PAL, I intend to spend as much time at the range as I can manage.

My intentions are first to orient myself, and get acquainted with the sport, and then I'd like to get into some recreational target shooting, with both rifles and pistols.

I hope to meet some of you and do some shooting.

I bought a Ruger 10/22. I'm accustomed to bolt action from shooting biathlon, but I figured I'd try out a semi-automatic. And I bought a .22, because I'm still a starving student, and I don't want to spend my entire year's discretionary budget on ammunition. It seemed like a logical choice.

So I bought one from the EE on here, and once my PAL is processed, I can actually have it, and go enjoy myself.

I'm also thinking about picking up a Beretta Neos. I've heard some good things about it, and it looks pretty nice to me.

Welcome to CGN, I too am a rimfire junky, for more rimfire stuff check out w w w .rimfirecentral.com not that the rimfire page here isn't any good (because it is) just more specialized over there.

Last week. So I have, unfortunately, a month to wait. Hopefully I can convince my PAL-holding friend to take me out sometime before then; I'm itching to go shooting.

Welcome aboard! Lots of CGNers from Vancouver (myself too) and I got a 10/22 you can play with if you want to head on up to the range some time soon.

Welcome to CGN, Erik.
I am sure you will find this to be the best gun forum around.
How did you learn of us?
I think a 10-22 is one of those guns that almost everyone has at some time. Cant argue with success like that.
Have a look at the Newbie FAQ section. A link can be found in my signature line below.
