Hi-Lux M-40 scope

Anyone have any tips/ experience to share about this scope ? I like the vintage appeal of the" Tombstone Recticle " but is it realistic/ or completely obsolete?

I have one on my m40-ish rifle. The HI Lux is pretty cheap, and the reticle is not very accurate for ranging. Clarity is lacking, as well as focus adjustment. It looks the part though and it was around 400 bucks.

The ranging reticle is definitely not usable, at least on mine. Maybe folks who have used a real Redfield can chime in on this, but my Hi Lux is only on the rifle because it's green, and I've learned to live with its limitations.

Okay, thank you for saving me, money.. obviously there's a good reason to invest in modern optics .

That being said, my son has dropped deer with it for several yrs and I've pulled off some 1/2 moa groups at 300 yds (unofficial) with it. You just have to know your limitations.
