Thanks for having a middle-aged neophyte!
My son and I took our RPAL's last year, but sat on the paperwork not wanting to jump through the hoops of submitting the licence paperwork.
I had never even fired a gun until last summer, when I was gifted a range session with Rob (Fang
) at the Abby Gun Club.
The boy and I went and were treated extremely well, and had the opportunity to fire some cool weapons and learn from a great instructor.
I was bitten by the bug and began the licencing process. I have my RPAL now, and a membership to Silvercore, and am shopping for a couple of handguns to get started in a new hobby while waiting for my ATT to be processed. I am thinking a .22/ .45ACP 1911 combo.
I am looking at a couple of possible ranges; the first being the new indoor place in Langley due to open this month- The Range.
Secondly, the Abby Gun Club. I think I would like to learn IPSC when I get a few thousand rounds under my belt.
I look forward to advice from experienced shooters who can help me find my way through all this.
