But are the mags blocked to 5 rounds??

If you buy the rifle in .40, it comes with one magazine restricted to 5, then buy more in .40 for the pistol which are restricted to 10. Those work in the rifle as well - possibly a slippery slope.

I have the 9mm and they are pinned to 5 rounds. I have the pistol in 40 and they work in the carbine. You best ask the dealers to see if they are sold with the pistol mags, I think they are. This is the same #### that applies with the Beretta Storm. If you do a search most people who have them are happy. I shoot lead FMJ everything through it. It's the cheapest pistol cartridge carbine you can find.

9mm feeds well in .40 mags? You can actually insert and use them in a 9mm?

Meanwhile...

The hi-point 40 and 45 carbines must be limited to 5 rounds (as with the 9 mm). You cannot legally use a 10 round mag in the hipoint 40 carbine. This was determined by the CFC last year.

The reason why this is different from other rifles and carbines that use pistol mags is because at this time the CFC is considering the pistol mags to be "multipurpose". As in, the same mags are used for both the pistols and carbines. The important distinction is that they have not been determined to be "pistol mags which happen to work in the carbine". As they are multipurpose mags they must be limited to the most restrictive limitation when in use. This means when they're used in the carbine they must be limited to 5 rounds.

So unless/until this "multipurpose" status gets reevaluated I would not use the 10 round mags in the 40 carbine.
