So I got my Hi-point 9mm Carbine (bought for me for christmas by my brothers old lady) and took it out to the range today.
Here are a couple of pics of it ( I threw on a cheapo BSA red dot)

My first impression is the gun feels quite comfortable, very light and easy to hold. It is also not nearly as ugly as I would have thought(the old ones without the railed stock are pretty ugly IMHO)
First things first, I got the red-dot somewhat zeroed, then tried shooting a few groups.
I was shooting at 50 meters, off of a bag, , both 147 gr american eagle and some Federal 115 gr (I owe you a box Petrak )
Both types of ammo, averaged around 4 inches at 50m , with the best group of the day right around 2 inches.(this was the best one

Last thing I did was set up a couple of cans to shoot standing offhand at 50m. I was able to hit the popcan 4 out of 5 times at 50m.
Overall, I am quite happy with this gun, very fun little carbine, will be cheap to load for,and the recoil feels no different to me than a 22, so the wife may even enjoy coming out shooting sometime.

Got mine in the mail today from Kodiak Outpost....looking forward to the weekend as wife's away so no complaining about range time... :ar15::cheers:

They don't have a non restricted version. They are working furiously to keep up with orders for the restricted carbine, so they have no time or inclination to produce a longer rifle for the Canadians. The barrel is not removable without destroying the firearm, so re-barreling isn't an option. It would have to be produced that way from the factory.

They are just as good as the 9 mm. I can't wait till someone has the 45acp in stock. I will be getting one of those for sure...

I got to handle one of the .40's at epps. Relatively light but the plastic is super cheap looking/feeling. They said they have the 0.45's on order, so ill wait and get that one most likely (assuming the 9 rd pistol mags fit in them!)
