hi-point question

Check out some of the torture tests they have done on them on youtube.
Have to admit they are touch guns. However they look so damm ugly and are quite heavy

I have a norc and a hipoint in .45 auto. Both are good guns and yes the hi-point is heavy. On a side note the only cleaning the hipoint has gotten is a spraydown with brakekleen and a light spray of wd40. Either one would make a good choice as a first pistol, prices are about the same IIRC

Exactly my thoughts. For the price, they are actually pretty impressive. However, good luck finding a decent holster for one...

But the question is whether you'd prefer one of the Norinco clones for only $100 more. You should really try to handle both to make the comparison directly. Or seriously, buy both and keep the one you like - You won't lose much on resale with a pistol at that pricepoint.

I don't know the quality of a highpoint pistol but the few used ones I have seen on the EE were very inexpensive. IMO what you might save in the beginning on buying it will offset by what you lose when you try to sell it.
I would suggest A norinco. Inexpensive, lots of parts available & they hold their value fairly well.
