Looks very nice. Many years ago, I sold an FEG to a fellow. He still has it, still likes it. I wish I would have kept one for my pile. I may have to "dispose" of one of my old war guns and add one of these SA's to the stash.

Yes, looks good. It would go well with my made in Belgium assembled in Portugal surplus Hi-Power that is a bit rough… And the mags should fit, even better.

Question for the knowledgeable Hi-Power guys... what would I need to replace on one of these to make it into a passable-except-rollmarks functional mimic of an Inglis? I don't know what RCAF practice with small arms was in the '60s and '70s or where he was assigned, but I thought it might have potential for showing my gal "this is what your dad probably would have had Back In The Day" and giving her the opportunity to get hands-on with part of her heritage.

We don't see much of him over at M4C anymore either. Must be getting really stomped on in his gig at FNH USA, unless he's moved on to somewhere else...

Looks very nice. Many years ago, I sold an FEG to a fellow. He still has it, still likes it. I wish I would have kept one for my pile. I may have to "dispose" of one of my old war guns and add one of these SA's to the stash.

I still have a pair of the FEG's from Questar when they were blowing them out cheap. I shoot 1, kept 1 unfired, they both came with spare complete frames and barrels bunch of mags, should have enough parts for a few lifetimes.

If you got a blue clone (not stainless) and put on a pair of Inglis grips, it would be close enough for your purposes.

Thanks. I have the feeling Inglis grips may be a challenge down here in the States, but if all I'm looking at is grips and maybe safety that's a lot better than my custom 1911 project where I'm trying to marry a 7" longslide to the .45 Super cartridge.

When I heard browning was discontinuing the hi power I went right out and bought a new standard, found it on sale to for $799. This springfield is probably better than not owning one but keep eye out for a used one, do yourself a favor and get the real deal.
