Hello folks.
I have a mk3 bhp with the windage and elevation adjustable rear sights. When you compare the adjustable sight model to the fixed sight model, there is a bit of extra milling of the slide to keep the sight profile low.
So basically I have 2 questions. 1) Is the height of the sight from the bottom of the dove tail groove in the slide to the top of the rear sight post the same height as the fixed sight model? 2) does anyone make an aftermarket sight set that will fill the extra milled area for the adjustable sights (yes looks do matter to me)
Why I am asking - I shoot some idpa and 3 gun matches in the dark. So naturally I would want some kind of night sights. I had purchased some of that glow in the dark epoxy sold by tactical####.com thinking it would be pretty decent. Which it is. But the problem is, the epoxy sticks to the white paint of the sight better than the white paint sticks to the steel of the sight... so what happens, is the entire colouring of the sight literally flies off after a hundred rounds or so. It just won't hold up to the blowback of the slide.
