Hi power

Thanks Rick,
I'm awaiting some info from another guy here who informed the seller of what he had....but chose to ignore that info.....I guess buyer beware...I will take your advise and go to the experts, and thanks for helping....regards..import

Interesting thread Import, I hope you'll keep us posted as to how this all unfolds. In the mean time I think you've got an interesting conversation piece here. I know I'd be tempted to buy if I saw one offered but, as has been said, not at FN prices.

I'd be very interested to see the seller's response. Have you been in contact yet? Does he have a strong trader rating?

Hey,
Haven't contacted the seller yet, I want all the info....still surprised he hasn't contacted me...he has to have seen this thread...so we'll see...watch this space, I'll let you guys know....thanks eh....

Update...he's out of town until August 31...so maybe he hasn't seen the discussion..

Nice to hear that the seller acted honourably. Kind of reaffirms my faith in the EE.

Come on can14.....let's have some proof? I, and several others can find no evidence of 'b' prefix Brownings....neither fn or feg.... It's an interesting confusion for sure.....

It's a copy/clone made by FEG. Many years ago Lebaron was selling these new in box as Browning Hi Power P35s, and they were registered as such notwithstanding that they were counterfeits. Whether Lebaron actually new they were fakes is open to conjecture, but it is possible they and many other Canadian retailers that purchased these at the time may have been duped by the importer.

Ah..haaaaa....the plot thickens...somehow seems unlikely the retailers got caught no? Then again..the paperwork is wrong....

In the US, most of these counterfeit BHP's came in a large lot of Surplus BHP's from Israel. I'd imagine the ones here came from the same source as it was around the same time. The importer likely looked at a few samples out of 10,000 pistols or whatever and had no idea there was such a thing as a FEG counterfeit at that time, even then they were mixed in with real ones so who knows how many dupe guns there were.
The guys at Lebaron wouldn't know a BHP from a BMP so I doubt they were willingly misleading anyone....
It would be more interesting to find out how they got to Israel...

It still will be a conterfeit collectable then. I will stand with the group. It was given to me with two mint inglis 8Ts ,never thought about it.
It is in with my inglis pistols etc

Hey can14,
What's the finish? Doesn't look blued....but I love the black grips with that look...

Quick update.....finally got to the range.....pleasantly surprised...3" group at ten yards( not bad for my first outing with it )super crisp trigger, slight take up with clean break...watch out for the hammer bite...that spur can hurt....opted for a slightly lower grip....otherwise ran flawlessly with American eagle 115g....it's a smallish pistol...but I like it..
