After powder coating thousands of round and shooting them, I thought I was pretty happy about how I had it working. Ordered some Hi-Tek from Bayou bullets and totally converted me. It had better coverage after two coats and this stuff is truly indestructible. PPC duty pistol tomorrow, so we will! see how it shoots, but looks great so far

I've been shooting bullets I coated with the stuff for about 8 months now other than the smell of burnt plastic once and awhile the stuff is awesome . probably shot 3-4000 rounds of them. They learning curve when coating your own is a little steep but when you get it down pat it's pretty easy
 
I order the powder to do the coating direct from bayou bullets they shipped direct. As for moulds I get good results from Lee tumble lube style bullets but there are some moulds out there designed for these types of coating without a lube groove that I want to try next
 
I ordered from Bayou bullets direct, shipping was reasonable, taking a bit of a kicking now on the US dollar though. You have to call Donny Miculek direct as the website doesn't offer shipping to Canada. And if the name looks familiar, that is Jerry's brother

Got some hi-Tek ordered from Donny. Very easy to deal with! Can't wait for some warmer weather to try some zombie green and gunmetal out. I'll post pictures when I get to it.

Curious if you have anymore feedback on how they shoot?
 
Oh, sorry for not clarifying that I haven't actually got to the doing stage yet, haha. I'm just waiting for a warmer day to try this out. Got everything i think I need. I'm going to try a few coats using the "piglet" method and see where it goes. Small batch to try it out. If it doesn't perform, I'll try standing them up, but I'd like to avoid the extra step if I can get away with it
 
There is a thread on the Cast Bullet forum 6900 posts, a significant number involving issues with making this product work in the 9MM.

I have had no problem in the 38spl using WW alloy but the 9MM is a high pressure round and I have had serious leading problems in my M&P and CZ's so I look forward to hearing how it works out for you. From what I can see Commercial produced bullets do work. Using hobby equipment seems to result in mixed success. It also seems clear thin coats work best. At one point in my conversations with the Australian producer of the product indicated my WW alloy was not hard enough. Not sure if that is the case as heating the bullets to 400F and then air cooling them will soften the alloy. In any event I intend to spend some time attempting to get the product to work again this spring.
