I'm new to CGN and relatively new to guns, I've only had my (R)PAL for about 6 months but I like to think I'm pretty knowledgeable about firearms. I've been going to other forums for about 3-4 years now and have built quite a bit of knowledge. I mostly signed up for CGN for the EE as my hometown has only 1 gun store and it's not very good as of right now, plus some things are hard to find from actual dealers.
Anyway, my interest I guns actually started from video games. I eventually got really interested and started actually researching my stuff. Of course it didn't take long for me to find out that the way firearms are portrayed in almost ALL media is pretty much always incorrect.
I think a lot of my friends interest in guns also blooms from the same thing. As hard as it may be to believe, I think a good chunk of the growing firearms community is in part to do with video games featuring guns. And I think that more teenagers like me and my friends could just end up being what our country needs to become more free when it comes to firearms legislation; right now Canada differs from the U.S. where Canada is mostly neutral on guns with small groups of pro-gun people and anti-gun people. The US is a small amount of neutral people but large groups of pro and anti. The key to winning is to win over the neutrals. And more and more of those neutrals are turning pro every day as kids who played games grow up to be of legal age and add to our numbers.
That's my personal/political rant, I hope I have a good time here and I appreciate having this site to discuss and trade firearms.
