Almost 2 years on this site and haven't said "Hi" yet. So. Hi.
I've been playing with old cartridge rifles and some black powder muzzle loaders. A couple of weeks ago my son took his flintlock to the range. They look like fun! Now I've got to have one! Starting to look around for something affordable.
I did pick up a Spanish Royal Guard flintlock pistol a while back but it wouldn't spark at all. I tried hardening the frizzen but that didn't work. I may try gluing a steel nail file to the frizzen and see if that helps. Otherwise it is replace at least the frizzen and possibly the whole lock. Or at that point just find another pistol that does work.
