Hello,

I'm happy to have found the forum here! I'm female, live in Vancouver, and am a gun newbie. I went to DVC for the first time in April, and have been going back every few weeks since then. :D I'm looking forward to learning a lot more about firearms, and improving my skill with them. I have a feeling that CGN is going to be an awesome resource for learning more about guns!

Hey welcome !! If you ever want to come up to the Squamish range for some shooting let me know, just pay the $10 guest fee ,, we just opened new pistol and trap shooting ranges and our rifle range goes out to 200 meters, its a great club.. BTW nice username, are you a drywall taper? Im a taper by trade and own and operate a drywall company ..

Yep, I was a taper. :) I work for a general contracting company now and don't do much taping these days, but the username is what I've been using on forums for years.

Can you tell me more about your range up there? I've only been to DVC and really don't know much at all about what other ranges are like. Do I need a PAL and my own gun? I've been reading around the forum, and from some of the questions I get the impression that most ranges aren't rental ranges. Is that correct?

I feel like there are so many questions to ask, but I have to learn some more so I'll know what to ask, lol.

I plan to get my PAL/RPAL, but I'm not sure if time/money will allow it before the end of the year.

Yea the range here does not do firearms rentals ... but you can come as a guest with a member , once you get your PAL and a firearm the membership fee is $80 a year .. its a very laid back range here most times im there on weekdays and im the only person shooting.. and i know a guy in north vancouver who does the PAL course, PM me if you want his number .. check out the Squamish Valley Rod and Gun Club website for more info..
