Do you attack the animals you hunt? Or do you harvest them? A firearm is both really, depending on what you use it for. If you are harvesting game, then it is a tool, if you are overseas defending your country then it is a weapon. To be calling your firearm a weapon while out in the bush hunting deer or rabbits, is well asinine. I will say again you can use the word weapon, but according to the English language, and the etymology ( the study of the history of words, their origins, and how their form and meaning have changed over time), you are wrong. I am sorry to say.
