One of the other vids attached following was on shooting the Sterling. That was my issue gun for a decade in the Signal Corps. Liked it, but had occasion to shoot and handle a STEN on occasion and actually liked the it more.
Best thing about the Sterling is that it worked, given mags that hadn't had the lips bunged up. The STEN mags were just about bomb proof.
I own both a Sten and a Sterling. Although the Sterling (or whatever the Canadian made one is called) looks to be a much better made gun, I find in practice they shoot about the same. Very reliable and quite accurate.
Hickock was holding the mag to shoot. This is not a good practice.
I had to stand in a line up for an hour, but got to shoot one full auto as an Army Cadet when I was 12 years old. Don't think that I hit anywhere near the target. I was impressed to say the least. Took a while to get the grin off my face.
The PPSh is heavy, more like the Thompson, but has a lighter recoil, more like the Sten, but a higher rate of fire than a Sten, and much higher than a Thompson 1928. All are fun to shoot, but the PPsh is the cheapest.
