Hickok45 having way too much fun with a Sten gun

Enjoyed that!

One of the other vids attached following was on shooting the Sterling. That was my issue gun for a decade in the Signal Corps. Liked it, but had occasion to shoot and handle a STEN on occasion and actually liked the it more.

Best thing about the Sterling is that it worked, given mags that hadn't had the lips bunged up. The STEN mags were just about bomb proof.

I own both a Sten and a Sterling. Although the Sterling (or whatever the Canadian made one is called) looks to be a much better made gun, I find in practice they shoot about the same. Very reliable and quite accurate.

Hickock was holding the mag to shoot. This is not a good practice.

I haven't shot the STEN since 1969 WOW can still remember it what a Blast...Spews a pile of bullets all over the place..

I don't own either. But I carried the SMG in service, and thanks to a US Army training team I did get to handle/shoot a silenced Sten once.

I describe it as if one had a 22 LR weapon on full auto in your hands. Recoil a little bit heavier but the audible report sure sounded rimfire'ish.

I've always wanted to shoot one. I've shot a MP40 and a Thompson(which I got a tattoo of). A Sten and a PPSh-40 are definitely on my bucket list.

The PPSh is heavy, more like the Thompson, but has a lighter recoil, more like the Sten, but a higher rate of fire than a Sten, and much higher than a Thompson 1928. All are fun to shoot, but the PPsh is the cheapest.

Love that "Cant figure out how to get it off full auto." Push the dam*&d button!

He really doesn't know how to properly hold one either. Grabbing it by the magazine housing can result in jams.
