I dont know what they are worth. Pretty sure too much to crawl through Salal tunnels or Alder hedgerows.
Nice rig....when your reviewing it from a sponsor. Got rid of my too pretty to hunt with firearms about 5 years ago.
The lack of the Alex Henry stock kills it for me....... Oh yeah, and the price. I love the No 1s but north of $2300 up here is easily $1000 over-priced IMHO. I have a No. 1 in 25-06 and love it but $1300 is my limit on that model.
^^ LOL..... You're a beauty. ^^![]()
I guess you are done buying No.1's... unless they are beaters.
Considering the inflation on all firearms, if you want to shoot a quality firearm, the No.1 is simply keeping pace with all of the other guns. If you are content to use low-end firearms, then by all means, spend 1/3 of the amount.
No. 1 rifles to me are like scandalous women... I say "No, I am past that... I am going with boring and affordable from now on. Function over form"
Then the perfect lines and the... um.... uh....um...uh...( channeled PM Longstockings for a second there) 'je ne sais quoi' get me again. Of course, I don't get the perfect one's...because I'm going to do sorta bad things to them.
They are heavier, slower to work and my latest is terribly finicky. Sorta like a 'used to be stripper'... all your friends with a bolt action 'tsk' tsk' about it...but on the DL...they want to be able to try her...even for a short while.
I love my RSI in 30-06, I would love one in 9.3x62(will probably never happen) and one in 7x57.... I would sell everything else!!Actually No.1's come in enough configurations and chamberings as to be almost entirely different rifles other than the basic action... I really should not say that I "love" No.1's, because there are some configurations that I actually dislike quite a bit... the "V" for example as well as the 26" "B's" and the nose heavy "H's"... really, the bulk of my interest is in the "A" and "RSI" versions along with the lighter barreled "S" versions. I prefer the Alexander Henry forend to the beavertail forend, and those that are shorter overall and of lighter weight, with trim dimensions that render them very wieldy and sprite.

Ruger #1's are investment cast POS.
Would have made more sense to chamber the POS in 450 Marlin to push rifle bullets thru the bore instead of 450 Bushmaster's pistol bullets.
I am a big #1 fan and have 10 of them, but I agree they are not worth the current pricing, I think Ruger is way out of line.
Hickok45 fans might like his review of the Ruger No.1 rifle, chambered in .450 Bushmaster. Interesting combination. Worth a look.
