Hickok45 shooting FAL

Watching Hickok45 videos always makes me want to go out to the nearest store & buy the gun he is shooting. He is always acting like a kid in a candy store. A very enthusiastic fellow. How I envy him!

I owned 2 of these back in the late 70's They were well built but heavy. I sold them when all the hysteria started, wasnt sure what the law or government was gonna do. Any ways, ... I now have a norinco m14 and like it just fine. Its the same thing, 308 semi auto. I find the FN and M14 were both as accurate, had the same recoil. I liked the Pistol grip better on the FN. It really was nothing special to shoot. To tell ya the truth,..my SKS is more fun.

I like his videos. Too bad they are Prohibited up here. My uncle had one way back, sold it thinking they would take it away from him, before they changed the system to PAL/POL from the old FAC. Then they made it prohibited.

I would love to own an FN FAL. The FAL was my introduction to the firearms world. I remember being in the Army Cadets (Governor Generals Horse Guard) and shooting the FN FAL up at Base Borden when I was just 12 years old. I just bought one of the Norinco M14's and I seem to remember 7.62x51 being a lot bigger than it actually is (it is still big, mind you). Aside from being a beautiful rifle that's amazing to shoot, I would get one (if I could) for pure sentimental reasons.

I would also love to have an FN as well , but even more so a G3 . Apparently the FN was non restricted once upon time maybe someday well get it back as a historically important item . I also prefer the belgium model over the isreali model for some unknown reason.

I shot the FN FAL last fall in Ohio. I also shot a Romanian PSL. I loved the FAL but I preferred shooting the PSL. The downside of the PSL was the thin barrel. Five shot max as the barrel had to cool.

Bought an Ishapore FAL in '89. Never shot it 'cause I was in the militia at the time shooting the C1 and C2. Now I can't take my FAL to the range despite the fact that it has never been used in a crime. Could you imagine some dumb Vancouver/Toronto/Montreal "gangsta" trying to use a FAL with no real shooting experience or training?! Yeah right! They may as well have made muzzle loaders prohib for the good of "public safety".

I've thought about selling it to another 12.5 holder but the most I'd get for it is about $300 being an Ishy and I'm young enough still to dream that one day we'll be allowed to shoot them again.
