hide tanning cost question??

Is it me or has the cost to tan a bear hide gotten extremely high.i remember when it was like $150--$200 to tan a black bear hide, now its over twice that.what does it cost in your area?

I can remember when gas was $.35/L and cigarettes were $4/pack.

Same price here, figure $400 to tan a medium size black bear.
