higginson powdwers

I've ordered a pile of powder from Higginson's, but have shifted most of my buying over to Hummason now. At around the 21 pound mark Higginson's "free" shipping is cancelled out by Hummason's lower prices and flat-rate shipping. On a few hundred pounds the $6 a pound really starts adding up.

Pricing and shipping doesn't matter for squat if they don't have what you want. These days, that's the big one.

Hazmat is charged by the carrier they use, loomis/dhl. Henry uses canpar, and they dont appear to charge hazmat.

Do they usually throw boxes from 10th floor or burn them or something?
Why would I pay more to have a box with powder delivered?
Just stick a sticker on it "do not hit with a sledge hammer and dont burn please".

#### off hazmat fees.... not using a carrier that charges hazmat ripoff fees.
 
my co club members including myself are planning for our regular bulk buy( vhit.powders) unfortunately only my powders are availiable( 4 lbs 3n38 and 3 lbs530).so I gues I have to postponed my purchase until their powders( n320 and n350) will arrived,otherwise I will shoulder the hazmat and shipping( $25 plus $20.00). maybe in the future Higginson will have a small depot close to Toronto-
 
they will only cover the shipping for orders over 21 lbs, without the group buy, I cant afford to stock up 21 lbs of powder. only need 7-8 lbs.

I've driven out there once, and I've ordered off of them once (bullet puller collet) and I haave nothing but good things to say about them.

I bought my collet Monday for my bullet puller, and it showed up to my house (Ottawa area) by Wednesday of last week. Shipping powder is expensive so I would advice doing a group order.
 
got lucky today area gun shop in the back of shop forgotten 6mm amax 105gr x3 26.00$ per box and 2lbs h4831 35.00 per lb and win.lr primers x1000 46.00$ finally a face to face with the owner ..Q powder order -bullet order, he can get from his dist. to save some delivery$ and no hazmat$ they drive to dist. and pickup monthly saved 2.00 on powder per lb unfortunately the dist to retail are asking 51.00 per box/100 berger 95gr vld match no sale ! the only powder line that is avil in all burn rates is imr and reliant powders has stoped shipping from the states acorring to the owner
 
thanks guys your input is great hazmat fees were new to me but more research shows area retail cheaper some items
