High capacity grouse getter and beer can execution tool?

If you plan on hunting with it, check your regs. I believe that BC doesn't allow hunting with a barrel shorter than 12".

Indeed you are correct MMattockx. In BC you need a 12" or greater to hunt with.

Nonsense. Barrel length has nothing to do with accuracy.

Are you then saying that an 8" barrel will thus be as accurate as a 22"? This goes contrary to my understanding of things.

Thanks,
Cal.

That looks pretty sweet. I'm thinking about a Leupold 2-7x28 once I decide on a semi. Is that a Ruger receiver?

Thanks,
Cal.

My 10-22 is quite accurate. I wish I bought 10 of these barrels when they were available. ER Shaw 11.5".

Really, you don't think there is a difference between an 8" 12" 16" 20" barrel?
Ok I bet you $20 I can group better than you with my savage btvs compared to you shooting a pistol.
If the barrel length didn't matter why would most target shooters have longer barrels?
Do you think a 10" Ar barrel groups the same as a 18" barrel?
Sad you must be off the Mark.
You are right that the crown effects accuracy far more than barrel length, but as I see it, if a short barrel didn't effect accuracy, why would most rifles be 16+"?
As stated by another poster, a 8" dlask barrel will shoot fine at under 50yds, however will really open up at 100+
I know this cause i had one!

Yeah, ruger receiver. It was a "blued" model, but I stripped it. It's been nude for years with no ill effect or special care. Power custom rail, VQ extended bolt handle, leupold FX-II 2.5x20mm with low PRW rings.

Very little. Barrel length affects velocity much more than accuracy and this affects accuracy at ranges that are long enough to bring wind drift into play. Since rimfires are pretty insensitive to barrel length in terms of muzzle velocity they are pretty insensitive to barrel length in terms of accuracy. If your Dlask barrel shot fine at 50yds and fell apart at 100yds you had an ammo problem, not a barrel problem.

Long barrels (powder burn rates aside) have more to do with steading the "shooter" than the "shot." In the case of rimfire rifles, the consistency of primer ignition has more to do with accuracy vs. barrel length... inconsistent ignition does not couple well with short barrel lengths... this is often where one sees accuracy "fall off" at longer distances with shorter barrels... when you hear this claim it is most often accompanied by the phrases; "Thunderbolts" or "Blaser's" or "Golden Bullets" or "Winny 555's" etc... Barrel length is one factor which has the least effect on "potential" accuracy.

i agree with building your own.
last winter i built my first 2, my blue one based on Hoytcanon's builds and then my long target shooter.
i now can rip apart any of my 5 10/22's and know exactly where everything goes and what it does.
infact my co workers now bring their 10/22's to me when they have questions or need help.
its amazing what you learn when you make your own.

but definitely call and talk to Josef at Dlask.
he put my receivers and barrels together for me and helped me with some problems i had and was fantastic to deal with.
the quality of his products is fantastic!

my 3 kids all drool over my little blue gun i made so im fairly certain i will be building 3 more of those in the next couple years.
and your gonna save yourself probably around 30% by building the gun yourself.

plus you can pick and choose stuff like barrel length and trigger group and such and color and even the compensator patters/style.
i know i personally went through 5 different trigger groups before i settled on what i have now. (stock, polished, VQ, Timney, Kidd)
