Just got this in, epic early Type 99. Rarer maker, known for their quality, Toyo Kogyo, located in Hiroshima.......Matching to the dust cover, early AA sights and monopod. Untouched wood, and the best bluing Ive ever seen on a japanese type 99. Screws all still staked fast, not staked in the slot like most, just dented wherever. Also came with a really nice sling with painted hardware. I was super happy to get this one!

Truly a nice example. You sure you don't have a time machine or time capsule?? ..........lots of 7.7 Jap ammo out there ;)

hah Id have 100x the stuff if I had a time machine. I may post alot of nice stuff, but countless hours go into searching, networking, the horrible waiting game of sending payment, shipping , then import, then shipping, and money and more money. LOL

Lovely rifle my friend, another excellent score.

Do you see many Type I Carcano/Arisakas out there? I browse GB every now and then and prices seem to fluctuate wildly. I mostly dabble in Balkan area firearms and those have gone nuts recently - what was 300 dollars last year has almost doubled in asking price.

Reason I mention as the Type I's are often overlooked and I'm curious if they have remained stable and low...

The chromed barrel isn't too exciting in my opinion but the chromed bolt face is really something. I've always thought that was one of the more interesting design features of the Type 99's.
