See if you can find a yugoslav 22 trainer. man size stock with palm swell, sights calibrated to 200 meters. mauser action with 3 position saftey. flat reciever top that gives lots of scoping options. More machined steel then any rifle mentioned here so far. They were sold by Marstar a few years ago for under 200 one of the great deals of the decade at the time. I bought 4 and they all came with exc bores, triggers and overal Very good or better condition. Worth looking into if you want a high quality rimfire.
I value my 'high end' Cooper above all others rifles. I shoot it more than any centrefire. Everybody should own a rifle that can outshoot our abilities at least once.
Something that looks as good as it shoots, here's the wood from an LVT, check out the fiddleback pattern, just love it.
I have 6 high grade 22 rimfires, the best shooters are Anschutz with the 54 Action, The Model 57 Cooper and a Sako P 94S. These will shoot under an inch at 100 meters on a calm day. I recently bought the CZ 453 it will shoot around an inch at 40 meters. I have leupold 6.5 x 20 scopes on all of thess rifles and shoot from a benchmaster rest.
