high end AR-15's

I like my PWS. I've got about, best guess? 4,000 or so rounds down the pipe on her and I've only had to clean it three times.

One when I pulled it out of the box, then once every 1,500-2,000 rounds since. I have had one failure to feed which sorted itself out halfway through a 300 round session.

It's light weight and I can make the hits at 500m with the 12.5"bbl and it performs like a warhorse...

Just what I wanted to hear. Heard nothing but great things from PWS MK1 series and I'm leaning towards the MK114 BUT I also like the SR15 for the ambi but not sure it's worth $700 over the PWS. Been reading Dmack's review on snipershide who ran a PWS through 17,300 rnds before noticing failure to eject and found out from PWS that he was supposed to clean the piston tube after every 5k-7k rnds.

those 5 that you mentioned are higher than SIG SAUER & H&K??

That is not funny at all...

As for a DI gun, go with KAC, Noveske is nice too but I would go with the KAC15, it's the complete package as already mentioned. Larue is not here in the country yet so there not really relevant.

I've had good luck with armalite, bushmaster, rra, and stag arms. I don't know if i would spend triple for a so called "high end AR15". I get to shoot 10rds at a time for maybe 1000rds a year.

Yeah...I don't get it. I've found Armalite to be very nice quality (more so than Bushmaster...which I also had a one point). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend that brand at all.

Go on then, what is it?

Things like properly staked gas keys and HPT Bolts. QC on DD and Noveske are second to none (except maybe KAC). In the grand scheme of things, having or not having something like an HPT bolt won't be of any advantage for 99.9% of AR shooters in Canada, but that difference still does exist.

I know it really doesn't fit the mold of the tactical AR's you guys are referencing but I personally like the JP Enterprises CTR02.
For my purposes its exactly what I need.

Machined out of one solid block, the upper/lower fit together perfectly.
Match grade barrel, its shoots one ragged hole at 100m with factory ammo. I was shocked when that happened and was repeatable.
Amazing trigger.

It retails for about $4k here in Canada but can be had for much less in the US.

I consider it high end vs my Stag and other ARs I've handled.

Don't take it the wrong way but it's not because you think Armalite are nice and would recommend them that they are high end AR-15's, they are not. Period.

@Dietz...oh, I don't take it the wrong way. I know this is a thread about high end AR's but at no point did I say Armalite was one. I'm just expressing that (IMO) Armalite is under-rated. I think they're overall pretty good for the money. Is Armalite a KAC...nope...but that's neither here nor there. For those who can only afford Norc then I guess Bushmaster or Armalite would be high end to them. For me, price isn't the determining factor...I don't care who's name is on the rifle...I just want a reliable/consistent firearm (and yes, I do have some that would fall into the 'high end' category by anyone's standards).

Nobody said anything about Armalite or Bushmaster AR's not being any good, and saying that they are not high end doesn't mean they're not decent, reliable firearms. However, the OP asked about high end AR's, so we shouldn't stray from that topic and muddy the issue by saying "Armalite and Bushmaster guns are good too!" It's not what the OP asked.

Fair enough...in the spirit of the OP's original question (and not the name of the thread)...my top 5 (in no particular order)
1. Colt
2. Noveske
3. KAC
4. BCM
5. HK
I choose them as they're all proven in industry. As well, I've had the pleasure of firing/owning all of them (except Noveske).

i dont mean anyone to argue about which is high end and low end, im sure even expensive firearms break parts that arent supposed to and less expensive firearms last an eternity without breaking, everyone does awesome points of what they favor in manufacturers and all have been taken to account in my next purchase, what if an AR was built from from all the best parts of each manufacturer do you al think it would be worth it to do it that way or to buy a factory built rifle? and also what berrel size does everyone suggest?
