High high capacity magazines? Best gun to support weight?

I've been thinking ahead of time about what to get, especially thinking about what I can do to the gun after I get it. I have a habit of taking things apart to see how they work.

Any ways, has any one ever seen any double stack magazines for .22 rimfire, I'd think that the rim would cause complications for such a system? Let's say I wanted to build a high capacity magazine,... I mean reallly high capacity, spanning the length of the rifle and holding well over a hundred rounds. Which one of the cheap semi auto rimfires do you guys think would be able to handle the weight of such a thing from the magazine locking system? Most people would suggest the 10/22 but I'm not so sure that the rotary type magazine system it uses would be compatible with a long linearly stacked magazine. I'm thinking something like a p90 mag where the rounds make twist before entering the chamber.

I've also looked at the remington 597 and it doesn't seem very secure either.

The 10/22 factory magazine uses the rotary design, the aftermarket banana types just use a spring to put tension on the rounds just like a regular magazine. I am fairly certain they are all banana shaped due to the rim of the cartridge. You wouldn't be able to use the p90 style unless you have each cartridge in some sort of holder. You could probably do it if you stack them bullet end facing each other, however the device that rotates them would be fairly complicated.

This is a 10/22 50 rounder, perhaps you could buy 2 and make a frankenmag as a project:

I should've clarified more, instead of having the rounds horizontally stacked, I mean vertically stacked, as in a banana mag except the end becomes completely horizontal. Like so

This would then slot into an equally strange looking HKg11 type body for said semi auto firearm.

That mag is interesting, it looks like it stacks the rims of the cartridges over each other, however I'm not a fan of the round look.

Yeah the belt is just a waste of space, a conventional magazine of that size could hold more than twice the amount of ammo.

I was thinking more along the lines of making my own from sheet metal or heat formed plastic. Unless that's illegal?

The calico is prohib, it's not going to be easy getting a mag into canada, along with the fact that those magazines cost 150 US + taxes. If I can find a easier method of making high capacity magazines,... well.

Why don't you pass your safety courses and apply for your PAL first.

Then you - along with your wayward brother - can start manufacturing the really challenging stuff. High capacity magazines...sound suppressors...anti-tank rockets...with all your friends at the CGC, the sky's the limit!

He's a presumptious ####, one of the children who belongs on airsoft canada.

Whats the cgc?

I'm surprised he left out racist terrorist statements, or is that too much here?

Ramline make a double stack 22lr magazine (50 rds)... they are not exactly the most reliable thing around.

If you like to thinker, and have the knowledge and resources available... You might want to try to get something working with the American 180 magazines.

275 rounds should keep you busy for a while.

But as other have said, you might want to get your PAL first...

Oh man that is an old school design, I'll take a look into that. :D

As for the PAL, I'm taking the tests tomorrow, I'll let Wendell know if he can dance on my failure.
