I tried a couple different loadings with mine and have been having mixed results
only used 5gr bullseye with a 230 gr cam pro and accuracy is very inconsistent at 50 yards let alone 100
I read on a different site that 5gr of bullseye was equivalent to the orig gi load for 45 acp
tried a load of 6.1 gr of unique and it was not that great either
maybe I need to push them a little faster like you have with yours or try a red dot instead of the irons

I am using iron sites.

I noticed my 45 PCC,my loads of 5grn 231 with a 200grn swc would be about 2inch at 25, but at 50 it be 7inches. But at 100 I took a pop shot at a clay and it crumbled.

But working on a couple other loads, I could run it to 5.7grn but that's max, and well my Lee could handle it, but not sure about my 1911. Hate making ammo for each gun.

Oh..and remember to lock-tight that FRONT site on....it will get loose.

I also LT the charging handle Bolt.

and always insert the mag on an OPEN bolt.

update on scope at 200 yards.

well......you can defiantly hit the target with force.....when you hit it LOL

I have NO issues out to 150 yards. I can hit the target 90% of the time,......but 200yards seems less promising.
I get a lot of "unpredictable drop" . I am using a STOUT load. dont want to go any more for sure.

the 230g bullit just isnt cut out for this long distance nonscience.

you can get a Hit every 7 or 8 rounds.....but I dont call that a win.
sooooo, 150 yards for the HP 45 carbine "accurately" It still has a lot of PUNCH at that distance although.
FAIL !

This reminds me of long distance shooting with my black powder 44 cal revolver. I could get it out to 75 yards with pretty good accuracy, but going to 100yards...NOPE. that was its limit.

45 is a slow and fat round, I don't think you're gonna get any better than what you are getting.

I have a 4595 coming my way, should have it in my hands next week. Was an impulse buy but the more I research these hipoints the happier I am with my purchase. Sounds like I made the right choice. Hits out to 100 is all I need out of it. Thinking about a red dot or holographic sight for it.

Have you tried loading 185s for a bit more velocity? Have you tried making brass from cut down .308 - effectivley making 45 Super or 450 SMC?

Thx for bring us around for the load development.
Does the high point have a fully supported chamber? Hot load hard on brass?? Like my glock chamber in my T. DEFENCE carbine.??

Maybe the brass is way thicker in 45 compared to 10mm
