Took it out to the range not with high expectations. I have spent a lot more and have gotten less. Its a heavy fat carbine, although well built. The iron sights are USER Friendly, the mag loads easy, the charging handle is short but Racks strong. Never had ANY cycling issues all day. It spit the brass out without damaging it. The gun just functions like it should.! It took a bit of time to set the iron sights in,...elevation was easy, windage was not. I soon learned,..sight these rifles in at 50 yards not 25 and it will go a lot faster.
Accuracy at 50y was ridiculously easy,"8x7inch metal plate" zero problems, took no effort.
Accuracy at 100y was ok with 14x14 metal plate anything smaller was a challenge. Seemed to get flyers at 100y. I use to own a 9mmJust right carbine and It is kinda whimpy compared to the High point 45 . I get a fairly stout recoil as well, "was not expecting that"The gun feels good and sturdy in the hands of the shooter, and you get "that bigger Carbine feel" from it,..I like it. I absolutely like the 45 carbine over the 9mm. Do not be afraid to buy one of these,..they function 100%, Very cheap price, fun and accurate to shoot, and you don't seem to loose interest in its hard hitting power,..it just feels good. I bought this on a whim, and I'm glad I did. The Pistol mags hold 9 rounds, 1 in chamber =10. This would be a good choice for 3-gun.
Update- went back to the range and hammered another 300 rounds through it.100%
I set an 8 inch round target up at 100yards....1 out of 5 bullets would hit at that distance. Once again ..flyers
forget about putting a scope on,....the plastic rail moves and twists way to much. Accuracy good at 50,..random at 100.
