I picked up one of the Speed Performance models this weekend.
I cut down the way to long magazine spring by 25cm.
I then put a 45 degree angle on the trailing edge on back of the second (last) u-notch on the bolt - I did this with a Dremel bit, some fine sandpaper, and then hit it with some cold blue. It now floats an extra shell on the lifter like the original M2 and M1’s (ghost load). With the factory + 2 mag extension for 3” shells, the shotgun holds 6 2 3/4 + 1 in the chamber + 1 floating.
Floating with the short 3” chamber is a bit niggly but I can do it fast now that I know exactly how far to pull back the bolt carrier.
I don’t know why the M2 won’t float a shell from the factory. My VR-66, M4, and M3K all do.
The barrel is a bit long for my needs but it’s workable.
The fiber optic front sight is great, almost like a red dot at dusk. I’ll try the folding sight with some slugs soon.
This is a fantastic shotgun with John Wick 4 styling.
