High Standard Dealer

Update

I e-mailed High Standard directly and their salesperson informed me that they cannot export firearms to Canada!? Can someone please inform me how Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Colt, Remington, Winchester, Marlin, Etc... Get into Canada? I'm aware all those High Standard 22's floating around arrived before 9/11, however, people are still doing business in Canada.

"cannot export"... I think perhaps they can, but couldn't be bothered jumping through a pile of hoops and red tape to sell a couple guns to the canucks.

"...aware all those High Standard 22's..." Those would have be made by the original High Standard that shut down in 1984. A new company bought the name in 1993. No mention of international sales, at all, on their site.
"...they cannot export firearms..." If they don't have the expensive U.S. exporter's business licence, they can't. It's not the same as the export permit.
"...please inform me how..." Those companies are much bigger than the current High Standard and have international distributors.

RIGHT!!!!! the old ones were good, maybe even great, but the current product is crap. I had a Victor for 75-76 - excellent gun but it went through three trigger bars in the 18 months I owned it. Much happier with my Unique DES69 (since 1976) and my walther GSPs that have been my main guns from the mid 90's on. But I also own an FAS 602 (aka Fussy!!) and newly acquired Marvel 22 conversion which digests everything and puts it all into the same hole.
Cheers
