Hey,

I was just wondering what my High Standard H-D military .22 pistol is worth? its in almost new condition, with no blue wear and a really good bore/barrel, with one two tone mag. No case or extras. The pistol has the heavy 6.5" target barrel. Wooden grips are tight and in great shape. Im hoping to sell it I just have no idea what its worth!

Thanks, and I know pics help, I dont have one right now.

bought this one last year for $350.00

asking price was $500.00

I paid $200.- for my H-D military. High Standard pistols are excellent and easier to disassemble and service than a Ruger Mk.III. Please don't tell anyone. Polaris has a very nice Supermatic, which he stole;)

I wonder if the reason there isn't much demand for High Standard pistols is because they should only be used with standard velocity ammo. They are definitely a quality piece made the old fashioned way, much like a colt Woodsman or S&W Model 41.

It an old High Standard or one of the current models? Makes a difference.
"...isn't much demand for High Standard pistols..." You new to shooting?
"...should only be used with standard velocity ammo..." Internet inspired nonsense. Ditto for a Smith 41. Both have been used by our Southern cousins for small game hunting for eons. HV ammo doesn't bother 'em in the least. Neither does hyper-velocity .22 ammo.

Do you have a High Standard pistol and, if so, do you feed it high velocity ammo? I admit to having no first-hand knowledge of ammo requirements for these guns and would be glad to be proven wrong.

I definitely concur with respect to the Model 41; mine has seen thousands of rounds of HV ammo without ill effect.
