High Standard "MILITARY" THE VICTOR Target Pistol found

Those grips where factory made, but not by Hi Standard, herrate ( Spelling) made a lot of them for the off bulls eye shooters,
Most collectors don't want them, but if you shoot them, which I do, they are great, they made left H and right hand, the Euro companies made them in 3 sizes .
That 10x gun is what every Hi Standard collector lusts after, my trouble was when I seen a few of those in a collection for sale , had kids going to school and I did not want to borrow money for guns .
bobdbldr, you get one Anthony has listed? trade ex. Those are a hell of a deal, only trouble is some have euro proof marks and collectors don't like that, don't hurt them, I have one, my reg. shooter, finish is not great, so don't have to baby it.

Yes, I bought two so far, and someone else bought the citation 103! I got a trophy 107 and the citation 107, looking at a couple more but price is higher and they don't have boxes or anything, also they all only have one mag, so I need to shop for mags now! These will be shooters for me but need to get lefty grips for at least one!!

The citation I just bought has grips like that, I thought they may be home made,,, I am a newby to these high standards! Nice. Where is the best place to get regular grips as I am a lefty?
Another question, where does the Ruger mark 3 target sit in the target .22 scheme of things?
Cheers Bob

Same type of grips on my 22 short Hammerli

Sorry to open this again, but I received my Trophy and Citation, they are awesome, hunter Henderson graciously sent me a PDF of the schematics etc. Thanks, now I was wondering if anyone had a link to a video or PDF or manual etc. On disassembly/reassembly of these beauties! I could just dig in but really don't want to ruin anything! Still looking for the regular lefty grips, looks like High Standard and a couple other places may have them on occasion, the search continues!

I have a armorers CD some where on these guns , haven't looked at it for years, should still be alright, my new computer don't have a DVD player in it so can't check, have a DVD player some where that may or may not work?, don't take the barrel take down plunger out unless you have to, it is a pain to get back in, other than that, not to hard to work on, just see where everything goes, and take pictures before you take the action parts out, but if it works , don't mess with it.

Manuals are available one line (can't remember where) but I printed one for mine... so many different models though to sort through.

I found some but not my models yet, as you said, so many different models and years! Very glad I got a couple from the ones Tradex brought in, the price was very fair!

Things may have changed recently with all the hormones in the food etc ... but back when the Victors - followed by the 10X which was even better - first hit the market it was acknowledged as the most accurate .22 HS made..... IF you were using a machine rest AND looking at 50 round group size. It was highly doubtful that any target shooter would ever notice the difference in accuracy between most of the other HS the models .. they were all good. As I said maybe hormone enhancement has made shooters a lot better -- dont know.

Used to be one of the things to be cherished was a collection of magazines that fed reliably (looks were irrelevant) and a pistol that wasnt ammo fussy .. (some model 41's can be very fussy - while HS not so much). One thing that doesnt get discussed much but the difference in grip angle between the 'Military' models and the so called 'Space Gun' can be a more significant factor than the ultimate accuracy of the pistol ... and so also can be the forward position of the rear sight on a 'Space Gun' .... for some people's eye sight. I liked the 102 Supermatic Trophy better than my military model -- both acquired from friends.

steves pages I think is what you want

AP I think the best of both would be the slant grip Victor, now their is rare bird.
I have shot both lots, I shoot 1911's so the Milt grip is fine for me, But I like the 102-103 slant grips the best.

Wow - I didnt even know that a slant grip Victor existed! Very nice!

Great guns and had one in my collection back when I was collecting High Standards. Just a word of caution to use standard velocity / target ammo only as the high velocity will likely cause a crack in the frame in the safety area.

In 40 yrs, I have seen one , they where not a stock gun, the one I saw as a special order from Hi standard, forget , I think it was the late '60, early 70's , It ended up in a large collection in the US., same as a 10x victor, I could have bought that one but way too muck money at the time, now I would jump all over that.
