Just picked this up, don't know much about them. Can anyone tell me a bit about it & approx value? Some rust pitting on it, but internals are excellent, 3 mags.

High Standard, model 106, military, olympic, .22 short.

It is only useable as a plinker, not in competition, since the ISSF disallowed .22 Short several years ago. The .22 Short used to be the standard for rapid fire, but not any more. As a result, guns chambered for the round -- including the Walther OSP -- dropped dramatically in value.

probably a great shooter, assuming the bore is good and the slide and rails are rust free, but with that much rust on it, esp down the front of the frame and slide, well, i would want change back from 200.

Payed $350 for a pristeen one a couple years before the changed the regs on ORF competition. Real accurate and wel built like all Military models. I would say $300 max on it,as its great for parts if nothing else? cheers Dale Z!

I just was curious about the pistol, it looked to be a bit unusual. The pistol appears to be in good mechanical condition, just cosmetically challenged. What was the original intent of these? Rapid fire competition?

The slide on these are alloy, because the steel slide used on the 22 l.r is too
heavy for the 22 short.
I love these guns ,great plinkers .
That one looks to be rode hard and put away wet.
The framed on these guns are the same, sio if you get a
22 long rifle barrel and slide and mag , you can switch between long rifle and shorts.
Hi-standard sold kits like that , so you could use both shorts and L.R.
I would value it at 250.oo as is, exc, 500.oo
I have sold many of these over the years, market is a bit off at the present.
