Could one of you knowledgable guys around here tell me how the scope is secured on a Mauser with the high turret mounts that have solid rings? My google is not showing me the way tonight!

The scope is stripped, inserted in the rings, reassembled, aligned, witness marks scribed, stripped again, tube soldered into the rings, polished and blued then reassembled...
AND then the customer normally only wants to pay $50.00 for this !!!!!
If the scope is an old scope you can count on screws that are buggered, stuck solid, an erector cell made of out zinc that will crumble when touched, lenses that are on the point of de-lamination and again, I could go on
I think they now charge about 700 PLUS EURO's for this if sent to Germany or Austria

Wheaty,
You are pretty close there. I had a Khales cad scope (original 1944) re installed in the high turret rings and then sent back to Canada for my 98k.

Do the high turret rings have the windage adjustment in the rear ring mount with a swivel in the front mount?
Or do they require a windage adjustable scope?

Send me a picture of scope and mounts and I probably can give you an opinion of what you can do with it...for what it is worth :)## And, scope work can get expensive for the damaged or repairing "bubba's work.
I get No.32 scopes in for repairs where they have attempted to remove the ocular bell from the turrets with a pipe wrench and then crab (BIT*H) at $100.00 to rework the tube, re-do the lettering and then Suncorite 259 it!!!

Germans did not use many windage adjustable scopes during WWII besside the ZF4

Yes to above....best do the mount and NOT the rifle. You can always shim the mount if you screw up but it looks like h*ll if you screw up the base. AND drops the value of the G43. The French actually issued shims with the scope (forgot the designation) for the MAS.
