looking to put a higher bead sight on my norinco 870 copy, the bead they come with is way too low...anyone know if they are a standard type thread? is there some king of epoxy on big dot that actually fits?(most are designed for a 'ramped bead' remington style). I need something rugged...thanks folks
I dabbled in 870's for a few years and I've shortened a few barrels. The shorter the barrel, the higher or larger bead is needed, unless the stock is adjusted. A few pictures would be nice, to see if there are any fit issues. As a rule of thumb, for ground work, you want the barrel and the toe of the butt stock to be perpendicular when the butt of the shotgun is resting on a level surface. The picture is of a '97 clone, and it could still be at a bit more of an angle, but this seems to do the trick for me.
This tends to lower the POI.
Someone had posted a pretty decent "fit" article on shotguns, you may want to search for that kind of information.
