highest psi rated pistol?

a friend and I were talking about high pressure loads, and we couldn't think of a handgun that would be over 45,000 psi. is there anything?

Pretty much any of the TC Contenders in Rifle calibers.

XP100 Remington, in .221 Fireball, etc.

Or the Smith revolvers in .22 Remington Jet, maybe?

Weatherby single shot in .460 Weatherby Magnum.

What's the 5.7x20-whatever-it-is FN rated at?

One might note that the Contender Pistols are only good to 65,000 psi with small faced rounds like the 357 Max, .223 and 221 Fireball. Larger cases like 30-30 are only safe to 45,000 roughly.

That's what makes that S&W 460V so impressive! 65,000 psi with a .45 cal sized case is really about as big as it gets!

Don't for get the 500 S&W magnum! Its not as high pressure as the 460 but its above 45,000 for many of the loads available.
