Does anyone here own one of their holsters? What is the quality like? I'm looking at getting a level II M&P9 holster.

Thanks

I bought an Odin about two years ago now. It was a decent holster for the price. My Raven Concealment is a lot smoother, and the Raven’s fit and finish was certainly cleaner. the 226 seems to almost “click” into the raven...

With the Odin, the fit is really tight, kinda grinds in and out. But at roughly half the price of the Raven, it worked ok. I didn’t keep it, I preferred the Raven Concealment. I ended up giving it away along with a couple of mag holders I got with it to a friend... I don’t have experience with the new level two holsters from Highlander... I’d bet they’ll do what they are intended to do. If I could get my hands on a similarly equipped Safariland for a similar price I’d be more tempted to go that route...

I think he's got a ways to go before his product is worth what he's asking.
I've viewed a bunch of his work on social media and for the prices he wants, I don't see it being worth the price. Should probably spend more time perfecting the work then advertising and playing on instagram. From what I could see online, a lot of their product looks very rushed or not well thought out with bad cuts, run out in the kydex and other imperfections.

Open statement: no ive never actually owned their product. Came close but when you want 170.00 for a not very well made piece of kydex, sorry but that's a no.

If you want really well made, quality kydex, talk to Tim from solely Canadian. He's a really solid guy who truly cares about his product. I've owned many of his pieces and it's still my favorite Canadian kydex maker.
I've used others like bravo concealment and while they work, it's a little bit "meh" to put it accurately.

I'm currently trying out Trex arms kydex but I've yet to put it through its paces.

I have one for a 226. It's ok and was quit happy with it compared the the kydex I use to make back in 2010 or so.
But after getting all the old raven concealment stock from osts. And useing it.
It's easy to see why raven was / I's the best.
That said maybe he has improved. He does keep going on about all the cansof guy uses his products
Its just a part time do in your basement at the PMQ gig for him ,he is very young and he's full time army with 3 kid's
That is a hell of a work load to deal with and perfect a craft.
I know I saw a big difference in what I did when I dumped my day jobs and went full time
100 hour work weeks for years will kill you.
I've got a few prototypes from another canadian vendor. But I'll not review them and just stick with T&E as im involved with company in an other capacity.

Not sure about the quality of HT holsters as I placed my order at start of August and have yet to receive it. Going on 13 weeks now. Website says 4-8 week lead time. When I emailed asking for a refund if my holsters weren't started yet. He apologized and said that I must not have got the email saying they would ship out following Monday or Tuesday (last week). Well finally on Wednesday I get a shipping notice with tracking number. However.....all it says is the label has been created. Item still has not shipped. Not impressed.

I realize operational orders and his job and family take priority but the total lack of communication is unacceptable.

Oh let me know how that T Rex goes! Love their videos haha.

So far, after taking it out on a few range trips, I can say I'm really happy with it. I really like the fact that I can run any small frame Glock, with any Surefire X series light without having to swap holsters. Great for a guy who runs multiple glocks with multiple different lights. This is what sets these holsters apart from the others for me.
Retention is good enough for me, I've yet to lose a gun out of the holster, and retention is adjustable.
LOVE running it with a safariland UBL mid ride with a leg strap. It's high enough that you don't end up with the classic drop leg holster wobble, but low enough that I dont feel like I have to change my stance to draw the gun comfortably.
Finish is meh, not that I find finishing to be that important. Would've liked to see some better buffing of the edges but it's a mass produced kydex holster, that's retailing for 65 USD, I'm not going to complain.

While I can understand the guy doesn't do it full time, what really pissed me off recently is how the guy had the gall to start sh!t talking his competitors, saying their product is cheap and poorly made in comparison to his. Yet he can't seem to find the time to improve his product, or even complete paid for projects. Yet he still had all the time to boost his social media following with range trip videos and all other kinds of BS.
I would've loved to support a veteran owned company like this, but if your concept of rising to the top is trying to sink your competitiors, sorry but I won't spend a dime.

If I had seen this thread 13 weeks ago I would likely have second thoughts on ordering.

My two holsters are scheduled to arrive today according to tracking. Hope the quality is top notch. Either way, HT won't be seeing anymore of my money as this whole process has been crap. There iss no reason I should have to contact him three times to find out what the status of my order is. If the lead times are extended, update your webpage. Send out an email (don't lie and say you did and I must not have received it). Then don't follow that up saying it will be shipped Monday or Tuesday, only to just create a label on Wednesday and not actually drop it off to post office til the following Monday. Poor customer service at best.

And on the days he was supposed to be sending out my holsters I noticed he had time to post up on facebook his range trip with his new AR upper....

My whole point with ordering with HT was to support Canadian as well as military. But seeing as there are quite a few other options out there, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

comes off extremely arrogant. and if he doesn't have your mold. He charges you for it so he doesn't have to pay out of pocket. Is this normal?

Seems pretty standard, but you may be just better suited to take your business to a more capable and prepared kydex shop.
Tim from Solely Canadian had a ton of molds and lots of different options.

I'm considering picking up 3 holsters off him mostly to support a local business. I'll keep an eye on this thread a bit to see anymore reviews that pop up.

Yea the "omg I'm so tired I'm up all night making holsters for CANSOF" gets annoying. He brings it up a lot. If you're marketing or selling a product no one really cares about you being tired, it's a business.

Wasn't at all impressed with the #### talking of other products I seen or the odd comments about shootings or whatever on the news where he tried to get a shameless plug in for his products. Easy fix to unfollow on social media. Might suggest he work less on his image, pictures of him shooting and pictures of his kit and more on refining his product but that's just my opinion.

I thought the price tag for holsters was around the $100 mark. Some are $170??

Well I finally got mine in the mail. Quality was good but seeing as they are my first kydex holsters I really have nothing to compare. Again the lack of communication is what pissed me off. Website says 4-8 weeks. Heard nothing by 10 so emailed him. Response was that he had 18 orders ahead of mine and that operational orders take priority.

At the 12 week mark I emailed again and was told he was going to ship at start of the following week and that he had sent out emails letting everyone know who was past lead time. (I never got any email).

Well Monday and Tuesday came and nothing. Then finally on Wednesday a shipping label was created....just the label.
States that he shipped it on Friday and that it should show up on Canada Post website when their system updates on Monday and that he didn't ship it sooner because he was unexpectedly called to the field. Funny thing is that he posted range videos on the day he should have originally shipped them out....Maybe that's what he meant by "called to the field."

After filing a complaint with (FRAUD ALERT) and saying that nothing was showing as shipped on Canada Post website at 11am Monday morning, miraculously enough at 1230pm it showed as received at post office....

Long and short of it is this. I won't be spending my money on his products ever again. I'd go with someone else. Poor communication and lots of "excuses".
