hiking/ hunting boots

Meindls are the boots I'm wearing until I discover something better. It seems that Euro boots seem to favor a narrow foot, but these Meindls are a happy exception, and for hiking in tough conditions, I tend to prefer tall boots. I might have to have a look at the Altberg Gamekeeper Stark Extreme.

I have a pair of meindls that have been very good to me going on 15 years now. I have never once had wet feet in them. I used them as a work boot in forestry and as my primary hunting boot for elk sheep and mule deer. I also have a pair of very comfy Irish setter elk trackers for when the hills aren't as steep. Not as strong of support as the meindls but super comfy.

I one a couple pairs of Irish Setters and have been pleasantly surprised by how
comfortable they are.
My feet arrr'appy appy appy with them awn................:dancingbanana:

So many people with so many choices. It's good to know that there are a lot of good boots out there. I prefer a mid-heavy weight boot BUTTTTT for the summer and just a light trail boot I tried PATAGONIA's. Mine leaked and I was not pleased. Not to say they aren't a good boot, very comfortable but the leak really annoys me. (2nd year). Now I'm looking for a light boot. Any recommendations? I've had 3 pair of heavy VASQUE's and for me they're great but I'm looking for a light trail boot that also looks good. (The wife wants that last part included.) Anyone? Thanks boys. (Girls as well, sorry.)

I splurged on Kenetreks last year and dont regret it for a second. Comfortable out of the box and are standing up to the punishment of the Kootenay high country with ease.
