Hilljak Savage 64 magazine quickie loader or similar?

I made one a few years ago, using an old Advantix film canister - likely no more around. And a short screw and a bit of the 'cap' of a Bic pen  Sorta bubba but it worked. Maybe you could use a 'standard' canister, if you can find one. About 10 years ago I begged a bunch from a local Wally Photo dept when they still processed films in-store. That said, I finally just 'got better' at loading individually. I put the cartridge in vertically and slide it back a bit and rotate into position. It's diff when I use SK ammo, with that greasy lube ;-( Here's what my loader looked like ->

I think that holds the 'helper button' on the 20-rounders ? Not for 10s ? I've got a dozen 10s, and I've read that the 20s are 'finiky'.

No helper button; it works like a pistol loader and pushes the back end of the round down so you can charge the next round more easily. Don't buy a 20. I bought the rifle because it would take a 20; bought a 20 and it would not feed. Sent it in for warranty, Savage sent it back, did nothing to it with not so much as a comment. I tried tuning it and it still jammed. We were considering a .22 two gun match at our club for pistol and carbine; since this won't work with 20s (runs 100% of the time with 10s), I will likely sell the rifle. The Savage speed loader I got with the 20 rounder does work though.
