In the mountains of western Alberta.
Myself and another member have been talking about having a weekly get together for precision shooting for a summer fun league. We have been talking to the Jack (Range Master) about it and he is behind us.

If you are interested in a Semi-Competitive fun precision shooting night please contact myself or Kmartel here on CGN. We are trying to guage interest and get some more people involved.
 
Longest range available for use is 500yds but 545yds to the backstop. Just gauging interest before making set times. We do have off-range capability in a few areas to shoot out to 2400m as well, just working on acquiring some steel in the very near future. A 300-500yd poker game sounds like an hoot to me!

Valleyview just extended there rifle range to "I believe" 700m, gives me some room to practice.
 
As stated its a 500yrd range.

Membership is $50 for a year however if you want to come out and try I am sure we can sponsor you as a guest for a day. ( I will Verify) As far as guest fees, bring a couple decks of cards and we will play 500yrd poker.

It will be a weekday evening thing, or potentially on a weekend. This is still to be decided.
 
I might be interested. For $50, I'd even consider a membership out there; although I'm not in Hinton as often as I used to be. It's a nice facility you've got there, my grandparents had their 50th wedding anniversary at the clubhouse there a few years ago before grandpa died
 
We have the support of the Our range association for the shoots. We will post again about one time fees vs. membership. Not an issue but more a matter of choice.

Thinking of starting around mid-May, and potentially having some service rifle included.

Bring your own zombie target. :D
 
Trap with long range precision rifles, hmmm interesting!!
Throw an ad in the local paper, you'd be surprised how many have "target" rifles. Get people out and then stretch the distance. Keep it fun. Have a intro to 300 meter/yard shoot advertized in the local paper with a small fee for insurance. They bring their own rifle and you'd be amazed how many hunting rifles can reach out to 500 yards, quite accurately. They get 2 visits and then they must become a member.

Tigrr, its international trap to boot!

You may have to think about making the trip for the long range. I have found a really good spot but have yet to distance it (guesstimate about 2km).

Not too worried about attendance for the first poker night. Word will get out and we are hoping to make it a regular club night for the range. Not nearly enough precision stuff out in these parts. :(
