Did anyone here reload the hirtenberger berdan primed brass?
Do these primers fit?

Is the brass good for reloading? Did anyone get 10+ use with their brass?
I would deprime using the hydraulic method.
Thank you

I haven't reloaded the berdan primed stuff just the boxer so not sure if the primers are the same or not.
I tried the hydraulic method to remove the primers but it didn't work for me but using the press worked fine
So far the brass is holding up fine with 3 reloads out of an mg34, doubt I will get 10 reloads as the gun is hard on brass

make up a punch, using a piece of brass rod and a drill stem that will fit into one of the flash holes. The Berdan primers punch out pretty easily with a hammer. A properly fitting shell head holder in a vice is a great place to quickly remove the primers. I find the Dominion Berdan primers offered by CanadaAmmo work well.

That Hirtenberger brass is very good stuff and can be annealed back to normal when it gets hard.

There is the recipe.
When Boxer 6.5x55 brass was hard to find, I reloaded a lot of Berdan. I used a RCBS Berdan decapper. Before the RCBS tool, I would clamp the case in a hardwood block, and dig the fired primers out with an awl and a hammer. Position the tip of the awl in the firing pin indent at an angle, tap in and pry. The hydraulic method works, but is slow and messy. If primers are crimped, the case can get puffed out by the pressure. I found that the Berdan primers were just enough larger in diameter that I had to rework a large rifle repriming cup slightly to reprime.

To the OP, those primers are not sufficient for .308 Win. I bought 2k from Canada Ammo hoping they would work in 7.5x55mm GP11 reloads - not a chance, not powerful enough to light-off ball powder reliably. They're made in Russia and I think they are meant for 7.62x39 M43 cartridges.

Henry at Budget Shooter Supply was selling Tula 7.62 NATO Berdan primers which work fine with the HP75 headstamped Berdan brass. I loaded 20 just for $hits 'n giggles and every one went bang...

My advice would be to hunt down some HP80 or later brass - good stuff and Boxer primed BUT the flash hole is very small - see here for more info:
