History and value of these firearms?

Howdy folks! Recently, my Uncle passed away, and my somewhat elderly Aunt has been left with task of liquidating the contents of his gun safe.

There's a lot of opinions floating around the family about how much she should be selling the guns for, and what they're really worth. In addition to the value, it would be nice to also have a little history and info on each of the guns. I think it'd be nice to give her a little insight into the firearms of her late husband.

I'd really appreciate your help with this guys. :)




We'll start off with an easy one: Remington 870. (is it typical to see a Monte-Carlo stock on these?)

Next is a Remington 760 with a bushnell scope (12 years old?)

Can't help you with the 870 or the mossberg but the middle rifle is an Enfield P14 not a Lee Enfield. It has a stronger lockup then a SMLE and is nice rifle in .303 but value wise its worth about $250 tops as it has been sporterized.
 
The 760 should get you $400 minimum maybe $450. Funny looking scope mount on it.
The 870 should get you $350 min I would think - maybe more like $400 if the right guy comes along. I am not sure that is the original stock? I have never seen one like that

The 870 pump is a very reliable and probably the best selling shotgun ever.
The 760 is reliable, maybe closer to 20 years old, because then they made 7600, model 6, etc

How do you know the value of the 760 without knowing the caliber?:confused:

There is a 30 inch barrel trap 870 on the EE or there was one last week, asking $450.00 plus shipping...
Again for the trap model...
I have seen one or two in the field in the past and an ex shooting buddy got his 34 years ago when he turned 13 years of age.
It didnt have the vent rib , but did have the monte carlo cheek piece.
Whats the barrel length, choke and is it chambered for 3 inch?

Pay very close attention to your 870 sale..... there is something rare about that gun... it may have aftermarket gear on it which adds nothing... or it may be a rare model.... find out EXACTLY what it is before selling.... PM me if you want help.... you could be talking a 4-600 dollar difference from a base model based on stock........
 
There's a couple million 760's out there. 270/30.06 and 243/308...Also some in 35 whelan.
Those were the most common issue.

And a few rare ones.....I was giving an average price of an average gun. If it is a rare bird then ok, i might be out in left field.
 
Agreed, that aftermarket stock would prolly reduce value, someone wanted a higher comb for trap shooting, and I think most of you are high on prices here on most of these...IMHO
 
get your PAL...tell the family they're worth nothing and keep them all. guns should stay in the family. i started on my own and wish i had guns to inherit. a rare privilege in my opinion
