HK 416 report ..............................

Hunh?

Bizzare to write an article for a popular magazine about a firearm that none of the readers can buy... Maybe US police???

"If you want the most advanced evolution of the AR15 system, combined with superb quality, check out the HK 416."
Dear Larry; I'd love to 'check out'the new 416 but your company won't let me. :( Maybe you should 'consult' for HK on that??

FWIW --- IF HK does open their plant in the US - they will be selling to civilians and LE's.

Secondly I have heard backchannel from some of the US Delta/AWG guys that the 416 rocks -- I dont doubt it.

My only point was I found it cute that he had it on his website -- Honestly I would have prefer a very down and detailed article by Mr. Vickers himself on the weapon - but even this one was way better than the HK stooge that did the one in Small Arms Review

Not to second guess Kev but last year the director of the "defense" side of the business was very optimistic that the 416 would come online. Once again if they are built in the US. The defense side of the business in the US is being reorganized, that may be some of the issues at large.

I work for US DOS (Colt M4A1 only) the only contractor entity that I know with HK416 is Wexford Group -- but they do stuff with Delta/Asymetrical Warfare Group (most are ex D guys anyway)

so they need to make a 16", and an American needs to buy one, and then we have to find an owner willing to sell and send it up here?

No, I think Kevin B is saying that the guns have to be manufactured in the U.S. (or some other country that is not Germany). German law prohibits the sale of German-made "military style" firearms to civilians. That's the reason why HK went ape#### when a number of 416 uppers were obtained under false premises and sold to civilians.
