HK 416 Upper?

I've not used their uppers but I have run a POF free float rail for years.

If their uppers are half as good as their rails, god damn I want one!

I'd get a POF upper if it could be had in canada in 10.5", but since I last checked only 16" gets approved for export.

These are built with one intention, to reduce heat. Very nice system.

Final prices will be posted soon, hopefully this week. Old prices were no longer valid. These had big lead times, so no deposits were/are being taken until they're confirmed on a plane. If you want position on the contact list, drop me an email and put POF in the subject header.

Walt - any idea how much it raises the system?
HK re-jigged their uppers about 1/4" higher to fit the gas system (and make you use their rail)

I am not an admirerer of Frank's rail so I am curious how I can craft something to fit it.

Quotes ....

Mr James Yeager from tactical response....... " We have had four POF uppers in classes and none have finished. Various issues..."

Mr Jeff Carpenter from tactical response .........
" We had a POF upper in a class in Sept of last year that had constant malfunctions. I don't know if Yeager has included this in the four he is refering to or not."

"I have only had experience with 2 POF upper (a small sampling). Both had several problems and did not cycle reliably."

How recent are these comments?

The POF system has had a lot of improvements over the past couple of years to get to where it is now. Frank is pretty open about this.

Kev, I'll ask. Hopefully when we get a demo in you'll be able to have a hands on look/shoot with it.

I know a few guys down south that have POF uppers -- most bought after the HipFiredGun (Paul LW) shenangins came to light.

I am interested if a RIS may fit (I know the RAS won't).

Also I was told Bushmaster is selling POF uppers as its entrance into the Gas Piston market.

There is a bunch on 10-8 and M4Carbine about the POF system -- specifically I will buy one since Frank took the high road when PLW's actions came to light.

Well LWRC never actually had any weapon in trials...

I dont doubt that LWRC have nice guns. Some of the politics stunk with the former owner.

Reliabilty is supposed to be the strong point of piston uppers, but you see many malfunctions with these POF ....
I'll stick with the good old gas operated AR-15. (why spend the extra cash on an system not tested by the military)

I think the issue with the POF's is teething. Nothing is perfect the first time. Hell, look at the origonal AR15.

Just from looking at their site over the years I have noticed numerous changes to the system. I suspect over time they found issues and fixed them.
