HK 417 classification?

Out of interest, is the old HK G41 listed by OIC as prohib?

Is the OIC list still down on the RCMP site? Can't seem to find it.

Although the G41 IIRC is just an HK33 that uses AR mags and has a shell deflector and forward assist (and a carry handle).

Was supposed to be the new German army rifle, but they scrapped it after the cold war ended in favor of the "economy" G36. Would have been a VERY nice rifle!

But alas, as the HK33 is named as Prohibited, the G41 would be so as well :(

He wanted like $12000 for it last time, it's not worth it in my opinion, better to get the MR308 its exactly the same gun unless you want it for a museum piece of course.

Difference Chrome lined barrel, not wanted on that gun considering the steel used.
No Extension tab in the barrel chamber like MR308, easy to have removed.
Adjustable gas regulator, depending on different usage of suppressors it is handy but not needed either.

Everything else exactly the same, including BCG unlike MR223 vs HK416

Does the MR308 not have an automatic gas regulator?

This is an epic collector piece. I can't afford it, but someone somewhere will be very happy with a very rare gun.

Yes, like many other HK417 do as well there are way 30 version now I believe.

It is rare, but a semi-auto run of HK417 delivered to Canada would destroy it's value over night and that is a very real possibility. I would buy it for less if I was open to taking a 5000 plus haircut and losing money was no big deal in that amount. But I'm not a multimillionaire so the risk is way to high for me, plus I would never shoot the thing, it belongs in a display cabinet for a museum. For that money you could buy an MR308A3 from Tactical imports and get the G28 kit and S&B glass and still have money left over and have a complete DMR/sniper system right their.
